A Closeness That Remains

In artist Natalya Yangalycheva’s new series of paintings – «Modern Muses», «Girls» and «Landscapes» – quiet moments of everyday life are transformed into spaces for reflection and inner contemplation. The human figures become symbolic images, exchanging thoughts rather than words. Their closeness hints at a subtle connection in which separate worlds of thought merge together for a moment.

The landscapes speak of summer as an inner state and of how a shared space can bring people together even in the absence of physical proximity. These are not scenes of action, but an atmosphere – slow, diffuse, almost imperceptible, yet filled with the presence of warmth and light.

The artist’s paintings are dedicated to a state of shared presence – when people are close to one another without direct interaction, yet inhabit the same space, the same time, and the same warm environment. The paintings show that each figure is immersed in their own inner world, yet bathed in the same sunlight.

The «Modern Muses» series captures quiet moments of everyday life that become spaces for reflection and inner contemplation. The protagonist sits comfortably in an armchair, absorbed in her reading; her posture is relaxed and self-contained.

The artist shifts the focus from the individual to the atmosphere, allowing her heroine to become a universal symbol of contemplation.

Pets, those who are close to us and understand without words, have also become characters in the «Modern Muses» series.

画家ナタリア・ヤンガリチェワの新たな連作『現代のミューズ』、『少女たち』、『風景』では、日常の静かな瞬間が、思索と内省のための空間へと変容している。人物の姿は、言葉ではなく思考を交わし合う象徴的なイメージへと変容する。彼らの近さは、個々の思考の世界が一瞬にして融合する、繊細なつながりをほのめかしている。

風景画は、内面の状態としての「夏」を描き出し、物理的な近さがなくても、共有された空間がいかに人々をつなぐことができるかを物語っている。これらは行動の場面ではなく、雰囲気そのものである――ゆったりと、ぼんやりと、ほとんど気づかれないほどだが、温もりと光の存在感に満ちている。

画家の作品は、「共在」の状態に捧げられている。それは、人々が直接的な相互作用なしに互いのそばにいて、それと同時に一つの空間、一つの時間、一つの温かい環境の中に存在している状態である。絵画は、それぞれの登場人物が自身の内面世界に没頭しつつも、同時に共通の陽光の下にいることを示している。
